Free agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has a message for his future teammates — whoever they end up being.
Hopkins is still in search of a new team after he was released by the Cardinals, and he wants potential suitors to know that he can still be an asset.
He especially wants any new teammates to know that he’s coming to play.
“Whoever’s in my future wide receiver group. I promise I will make your job easy,” Hopkins tweeted Tuesday.
The three-time All-Pro had 64 receptions for a team-leading 717 receiving yards and three touchdowns in nine games with Arizona last season.
But the 31-year-old has played just 19 games over the past two years because of injury issues and a suspension for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy.
Arizona released Hopkins in May and now is one of the biggest names still on the open market.
Hopkins visited with the Patriots and the Titans, but has not signed a deal with any team yet.
Both those two teams likely need a bonafide No. 1 receiver, and Hopkins fit that bill with his resume, which includes six seasons of more than 1,000 receiving yards.
For now, it doesn’t seem like Hopkins is in any rush to find a new team, which NFL reporter Mike Giardi reported Monday.
But fellow free agent Dalvin Cook had some ideas for the two as they seek new teams.
The former Vikings running back said on “The Adam Schefter Podcast” that it would be “epic” for the two to team up to form a vaunted offense.
“I know his mindset, and I done play against D-Hop a numerous amount of times,” Cook said. “When I been with D-Hop, we done chill together, we done been around each other, and it’s like, I kind of see the person that he is like, he want to win and that’s what my mind at to.
“I want to go win. Like I said, the money gonna come and that’s going to happen. But like as far as going to lift that [Lombardi] Trophy up, he got the same mindset as me.”
The 2023 season would be Hopkins’ 11th season in the NFL.
