This surprise was nothing short of a home run.

David Wright recently had a sweet encounter with a Mets fan in San Francisco, where the former third baseman greeted a bartender who was wearing his jersey.

A video of the exchange — which was posted Friday on the Mets’ social media accounts — features Wright at the bar waiting to place his order before the bartender turns around and, after a moment, realizes who their next customer is.

“When your bartender in SF is wearing a David Wright jersey … And you’re David Wright,” the account captioned the clip.

The bartender then asked Wright for a hug, to which the former MLB star, 40, obliged.

Wright’s fan then playfully shouted at colleagues, “I thought you guys were f–king with me.”

The video has already captured the hearts of Mets fans across social media.

“This is everything we need in our timeline,” one fan commented on Instagram.

Another wrote, “This is making me smile, laugh and cry a bit all at the same time. Miss this amazing guy !”

Wright, who was originally drafted by the Mets in 2001, retired from professional baseball in 2018 after years of battling spinal stenosis.

He made his major league debut in 2004 and went on to have a decorated career that included seven All-Star nods, two Gold Glove awards, and a pair of Silver Slugger honors.

The Mets are currently in San Francisco as part of a West Coast road trip that also featured two series against the A’s and Dodgers respectively.

They defeated the Giants on Thursday, 9-4, and have three games left in the series.
