Dark Winds Season 3 is ramping up as Lt. John Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon) and Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon) continue their investigation into the disappearance of two boys, but there’s one case from Leaphorn’s past that is still haunting him.
Season 2 ended with a bombshell twist that left fans feeling both shocked and vindicated. The season finale saw Leaphorn drive to B.J. Vines’ house after finding out he was the reason why the oil well was blown up all those years ago, claiming the lives of many, including Leaphorn’s son. It was clear that Leaphorn was at B.J.’s house seeking revenge. However, when he cuffed him and drove him out into the snowy desert, Leaphorn did not shoot him as many expected; instead, he abandoned him out in the snow, leaving him shoeless in his pajamas to find his way back to town.
But there’s one person who is getting dangerously close to the truth of B.J.’s disappearance: Agent Washington (Jenna Elfman).
A new, exclusive clip of Season 3, Episode 4 shared with DECIDER shows Agent Washington grilling Leaphorn about B.J.’s disappearance.
Washington makes it clear to Leaphorn that she knows his son was “murdered” by Vines before she getting straight to the point: “Where were you the night B.J. Vines disappeared, Lieutenant?”
Leaphorn claims he was at home with his wife. But Agent Washington is not buying it.
“So if we drive to your house right now she would corroborate that, right?” she responds, calling his bluff.
What exactly does Agent Washington know?
Titled “Chahałheeł” (Darkness Falls), this episode’s description reads as follows: “Chee pays Manuelito a visit after discovering a link between their cases. Leaphorn pursues a fugitive suspect. Special Agent Washington interviews an eyewitness to the crime she’s investigating.”
This week’s episode marks the official halfway point of Season 3.
