Maybe Darby Allin didn’t miss his chance after all.

Maybe the Death Riders story can spawn not one, but two babyface world champions whom AEW fans are super invested in.

I’ll stand by my belief that Allin was the wrestler originally supposed to end Jon Moxley’s reign as AEW World champion, especially if you look back at how the story started. He was a constant thorn in the Death Riders’ side and was the one who approached Will Ospreay about taking up the cause with his fellow babyfaces.

Nevertheless, Allin broke his foot in March 2024 on the Dynamite just before he was supposed to climb Mount Everest, and had to postpone the climb. Allin, 32, missed about a month of action and then likely took himself off the board when it came to beating Moxley to leave and climb Everest.
