The Knicks shockingly fired Tom Thibodeau on Tuesday afternoon, just a few days after the coach guided the franchise to its first conference in 25 years.
Here’s a list of eight candidates who might replace him:
Served as the associate head coach under Thibodeau for four years and was a favorite among players, particularly Julius Randle and Immanuel Quickley. Moved to the Cavaliers last season under Kenny Atkinson, helping the franchise to the top seed in the East. Bryant has an advocate in the front office in William Wesley.
Was recently canned by the Nuggets and carries a championship pedigree with strong ties to NYC as a Queens product and former Knicks assistant. His fiery personality is viewed as a potential detriment, however, especially in the volatile environment of MSG.
