Cue the trumpet-blazing “Dancing with the Stars” theme music, pan to the trio of judges on stage left of the LA studio. It’s time for season 32 of one of the nation’s legacy dance competition shows.
But, that’s not the only thing we’re dancing to on its premiere (which was Sept. 26). We’re also waltzing on over (or jiving, or tango-ing) to “Dancing with the Stars” Pro Peta Murgatroyd’s newly minted self-tanner brand, Peta Jane Beauty (PJB).
Dazzling online for its ability to offer a “natural-looking tan” with “zero sun damage,” Murgatroyd is proving not only that her skills are also sharp off the dance floor, but that a natural-leaning glow is achievable year-round.

“PJB’s at-home tanning products are easy to use while providing an incredibly flawless tan,” according to the description on Peta Jane Beauty’s website. “With a mission focused on self-confidence, Peta Jane mousse delivers an unparalleled bronze color that dries instantly and lasts for one week.”
The brand, which is also sold on Amazon (#score) has its signature best-seller, the Self-Tanning Mist — Face & Body. This product, impressively, doesn’t require a tanning mitt and was made non-GMO, eco-certified and all-natural DHA-derived from beets and sugar.
With a light floral scent, this must-have mist is easily absorbent and said to be streak-free.
Not only does Murgatroyd set forth your-skin-but-better tanning products but she also has a preserving body lotion to apply afterward. Genius. This moisturizing lotion contains organic DHA, allowing you “to extend, build, or accelerate your tan,” per the product’s description.
More, for building up your tan, it’s best to apply daily until you achieve your desired tan or shade. This achieves a gradual look, making it a standout among others in the industry.
The brand’s well-loved tanning mousse is available in three tones: light (pictured here), medium and also dark. How to use? It’s best to use after you shower and after you have exfoliated for at least 24 hours prior to application. You’ll also want to avoid moisturizer or lotion for at least 24 hours before applying.
Then, shake well and pump the Tanning Mousse onto the Peta Jane Beauty Mitt ($10). Apply evenly in upward circular motions, starting with your legs and working your way up. Pro tip: work in small sections, as the tan will dry quickly.
With the leftover mousse on the mitt, cover hard-to-reach areas (like your hands and feet) to ensure an even glow.
Back in Australia as a little girl, Murgatroyd “was always mixing foundations, bronzers, and moisturizers to create [her own makeup]” — per the brand’s website — and Peta Jane Beauty is the vision behind her childhood dreams. And, if being on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ for 12 years has taught her anything, it’s the beauty of a fake tan for a glow like no other.
Now, you have something to purchase during those commercial breaks of “Dancing with the Stars” while you watch this season. Not to mention, you’ll have a beyond-beautiful glow for every Tuesday of your binge-watch thereafter.
The buzzy new launch is one of the new-to-market brands we’re excited about. After all, life is too short not to feel 100% confident — and Peta Jane Beauty can help you get there.
