A former dancer is suing A&E for allegedly using nude footage of her without her consent in its salacious Secrets of Playboy docuseries.
Jennifer Jauregui claims she was hired in 2001 or 2002 to work an event at Hugh Hefner‘s infamous Playboy Mansion, where she was allegedly filmed without her consent dancing in nothing but green body paint, according to court docs obtained by TMZ.
The footage was then used in the first episode of Secrets of Playboy Season 2 — and replayed several times throughout the other Season 2 episodes. Jauregui says she never granted consent to use the footage, nor was she compensated. She is accusing the network of “damaging commercial and sexual exploitation.”
Jauregui, who is seeking $2 million in damages, adds that she has gotten married and had children since the video was taken and is “devastated this exploitation has happened again and especially at this point in her life,” per TMZ.
DECIDER has reached out to reps for A&E for comment, but did not hear back by the time of publication.
Secrets of Playboy, which first came out in 2022, features archival footage and interviews with former Playboy employees accusing Hefner of appalling acts such as allegedly drugging and raping a Playmate, recording guests without their consent, blackmailing models and refusing to wear condoms.

Playboy issued a statement at the time disassociating itself from Hefner, who died in 2017 at 91 years old.
“We trust and validate these women and their stories and we strongly support those individuals who have come forward to share their experiences,” the statement read, per USA Today. “It is critically important that we listen.”
The second season was released in 2023 and featured more interviews with former Playboy models as well as Hefner’s ex-girlfriends.
As DECIDER’s Johnny Loftus notes in his review, “It’s the individual perspectives of the women who made the decision to pose and become Playmates that resonate most in Secrets of Playboy, as they take their personal power back from the brand and the public’s perception of it.”
