The Nets’ offseason just potentially took another twist.

Damian Lillard requested a trade from the Trail Blazers on Saturday, according to The Athletic.
Brooklyn, as previously reported, is interested in acquiring him but the All-Star seems to have a different team in mind.

Lillard’s desire is to be shipped to Miami Heat, per The Athletic.

Lillard, a seven-time All-Star, has spent his entire 11-year career with Portland.

In 2022-23, he averaged a career-best 32.2 points per game, but his interest in a potential rebuild — with Portland holding the No. 3 pick and selecting Scoot Henderson in last week’s NBA draft — became a pressing question.

And his latest request appears to hint at that answer.
