Conor McGregor is out of UFC 303, the Dana White announced on Thursday night. 

The promotion was able to build a new title fight as the main event, as light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira will put his title on the line to fight Jiri Prochazka. 

Pereira had previously been on a media tour in Australia and had been dealing with some bumps and bruises of his own.

The news of McGregor’s fight postponement comes after a Dublin, Ireland, press conference earlier this month was abruptly canceled in a bizarre move <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/06/03/sports/ufc-abruptly-cancels-conor-mcgregor-press-conference-as-rumors-swirl/">12 hours before it was scheduled</a>.

McGregor hasn’t fought in the UFC since July 2021, when he suffered a gruesome leg injury that had thought to be career-threatening.
