The Drew Barrymore Show reached new levels of nutty during this morning’s broadcast when host Drew Barrymore and Ross Mathews awkwardly discussed the extremely prestigious job of “Wiener Connoisseur.”

The co-hosting duo chowed down on hot dogs as Mathews announced that BetUS, an online sports book and betting site, is in search of a Wiener Connoisseur to measure “every hot dog across 30 Major League Baseball stadiums” for a grand total of $2,500.

“So let me get this right. The job is measuring wieners?” a confused Barrymore asked with a mouth full of food.

Mathews broke out laughing as he replied, “Yeah,” prompting Barrymore to rip out her tape measure.

Mathews continued, “A Wiener Connoisseur is responsible for measuring the length and diameter and weight of each hot dog. They’ll also need to record the price of each iconic hot dog. You want to measure your wiener?”

Still baffled by the nature of the position, Barrymore wondered, “Why does the wiener need to be measured?”

The longer the topic went on, the more the sexual undertones became apparent.

“I think if it’s not hurting one to measure a wiener, get out your — and measure, honey! Just go nuts,” Mathews said, while Barrymore chimed in, “Apparently, the stadiums are … measuring.”

Both co-hosts then warily held their tape measures to the longest settings.

“That’s jumbo! That’s a jumbo dog,” Barrymore exclaimed, to which Mathews quipped, “Well, they plump when you cook them.”

Food segments are no stranger to The Drew Barrymore Show. When celebrity chef Guy Fieri stopped by the hit daytime talk show on April 5, he jokingly called Barrymore “gangster” for talking with food in her mouth.

“Can I tell you how cool it is that [on] your show you can talk with your mouth full and just pull it off?” he said. “You just are gangster. You just roll your own way. Whole mouth full of food.”

The Drew Barrymore Show airs on weekdays on CBS. You can check the website for local airtimes.
