NextImg:Commanders’ Jonathan Allen goes off after Giants loss: ‘Tired of this s–t’

Commanders defensive lineman Jonathan Allen was not happy after Washington’s latest loss and didn’t hide his displeasure.

The Giants defeated the division-rival Commanders Sunday at MetLife Stadium, 14-7, handing Washington its fourth loss of the season.

After the game, Allen said he felt his team lacked “focus” and “attention to detail.”

But his most blistering criticism came when asked if the Commanders’ problems are getting frustrating.

Before the reporter could finish the question, Allen launched into an expletive-filled tirade.

“F–k yes it does,” Allen quickly responded. “I’m f–king tired of this s–t. I’m f–king tired of this bulls–t. It’s been seven f–king years of the same s–t. I’m tired of this s–t.”

A season that started off with some much promise has quickly started to nosedive for the Commanders.

Washington had won back-to-back games to kick off a new era under new team owner Josh Harris, who purchased the franchise from Dan Snyder over the offseason.

But the Commanders have dropped four of their last five games — including Sunday’s loss to the Giants — and have a meeting with the Eagles on deck.

Allen said that nothing that the Giants threw at them on Sunday was surprising, but did tell reporters that they “whooped our ass, plain and simple.”

“I just think it was a lack of focus on our part,” he said. “A lack of attention to detail. Not starting fast and creating holes that are too big for us to overcome in the second half.”

At 3-4 on the season, the Commanders are trying to turn things around and finish this year with a winning record for the first time since 2016.

That likely is what is contributing to Allen’s frustration at the moment, since the defensive lineman has not enjoyed a winning season with Washington and has made just one postseason during that span.

Allen, the No. 17 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, is in his seventh season with the Commanders.

In terms of what Allen thought Washington could do going forward, his answer was simple.

“Get our minds right and get ready to play f–king Philadelphia,” he said.
