Comedian Matt Rife is facing backlash yet again for the comment he made on a six-year-old’s reaction video to his recent Netflix special, Matt Rife: Natural Selection.
The child’s parent, TikTok user Bunny Hedaya, addressed Rife directly and shared a screenshot of his since-deleted comment. “Matt Rife has decided to start beef with my 6-year-old child online,” she alleged in a recent post.
Her son had created a reaction video to one of the jokes Rife made in his new Netflix stand-up special, in which he corrected Rife’s claim that “Jupiter has a ring.”
“Actually, it’s Saturn that has the rings. It has more [visible rings] also,” Hedaya’s son said in his video, before adding, “And, you’re mean to girls.”
A screenshot from Hedaya’s video showed Rife had commented in response, “Jupiter also has [a] ring. OH!… and Santa isn’t real. Your mom buys you presents with the money she makes on OnlyFans. Good luck.”
Hedaya hit back at the comedian, and accused Rife of “fighting with a 6 year old” over “a light-hearted video.” Her response has now reached 11.6 million views and 1.7 million likes on TikTok as of publication time.
“I’m not the type of content creator that usually talks about other people or other things for views. I focus my content only on me,” Hedaya said in her TikTok. “Because guess what, Matt? I’m interesting enough on my own, but I also didn’t pay for my looks.”
Rife has not responded publicly yet. The comedian’s rep did respond to Decider’s request for comment by time of publication.
After seeing Hedaya’s video, commenters were incensed by Rife’s response to her son and saw it as yet another reason to criticize the controversial comedian.
“I used to think Matt Rife was funny but after seeing the way he spoke to a content creators 6yr old… I’m truly disgusted,” one fan wrote on X. Another wrote, “He’s such a loser omg.”
This is far from the first time the comedian has faced backlash online. He recently came under fire for joking about domestic violence in his stand-up special and was blasted for inappropriately touching Zendaya in a 2015 TV appearance.
Rife’s special, Natural Selection, is now streaming on Netflix.
