Columbia University president Minouche Shafik called for more “empathy” from the student body in her first remarks since NYPD officers stormed an administration building that was illegally occupied by a pro-terror mob.

Shafik said the chaotic events of the past two weeks — which saw an anti-Israel encampment overtake the Ivy League school’s stately Morningside Heights campus —  as “among the most difficult in Columbia’s history,” following the dramatic removal of the occupiers and the tent city.

“The turmoil and tension, division and disruption have impacted the entire community,” she said in a video address posted on Friday evening. “You are students who paid an exceptionally high price.”
