Colman Domingo is clearing the air of any rumors about Euphoria on-set struggles.
In an interview with U.K. outlet The Independent, the actor — who took home an Emmy for “Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series” in 2022 for his portrayal of Rue’s (Zendaya) sobriety sponsor and recovering drug addict Ali Muhammed — rejected any claims of an unhappy and unhealthy environment, per Entertainment Weekly.
When asked if his experience working on Euphoria resembled claims like those made in a Daily Beast report last year, he replied, “Not one bit.”
“I’m not gonna invalidate [anyone’s] experience,” he continued. “But working in television is long hours. Sometimes you work up to 14 hours a day. And then you have to go home and prep. You have to really live and work in a very methodical way. A lot of young actors may not be up for the task, or have that same work ethic.”
Domingo, who said he’s “been in this business for 32 years,” argued that he “know[s] what hard work is.”
“So when I heard those ‘reports,’ I thought, ‘Where is this coming from? That’s just a normal work day,'” he recalled. “Be a professional.”
He also praised series creator Sam Levinson, who was previously under fire amid allegations of a toxic work environment on the set of the hit HBO drama.

“There’s no one that’s going to mistreat you on the set of Euphoria,” Domingo clarified. “Sam Levinson is joyful, and collaborative, and could not be a bigger advocate for his actors.”
This isn’t the first time that Domingo has defended Levinson. Referring to the toxic workplace claims against him, he told The Hollywood Reporter in March 2022, “I don’t think it’s a thing — at least from my experience.”
“Every single time I’ve been on set there’s so much care, so much love, so much creative energy,” he said.
HBO CEO Casey Bloys revealed earlier this month that Euphoria will not return until 2025 for its third season.
Euphoria is streaming on Max.
