There’s a fresh talent emerging in the golf influencer space.
Lilia Schneider, a college junior and member of the women’s golf team at Marian University in Indianapolis, has drawn comparisons to Paige Spiranac, the self-described “OG Insta golf girl,” who boasts nearly four million Instagram followers.
The 20-year-old Schneider has a micro following compared to Spiranac, but golf fans are starting to notice her TikTok videos.
Her content includes funny golf videos, which show her playing and joking about the game.
“They say if you get your girlfriend flowers it will shave 3 strokes off of your game,” she wrote over one video of herself in bed.
Schneider might be a familiar face to some.
The rising social media personality made headlines in September 2022 when she was spotted with pro golfer Bryson DeChambeau at the LIV Golf Invitational-Chicago, according to OutKick.
DeChambeau was photographed riding in a golf cart with a blonde woman, who was misidentified by a photo agency as his ex-girlfriend, Hunter Nugent, at the time.
Nugent told Outkick she was not in Chicago with DeChambeau and the two were not dating anymore — before she said Schneider was his new girlfriend.
DeChambeau and Schneider were reported to be an item in March 2023, per The Sun.
It is believed nothing came of the reported relationship, as DeChambeau did not address it publicly.
Schneider, who is a marketing major, is on track to graduate from Marian in 2025, according to her LinkedIn.
The influencer — who has 54,000 Instagram followers — has done a number of fashion collaborations with swimwear and athletic apparel brands.
She splits time between Indianapolis and her native Michigan.
Schneider announced her commitment to play golf at Marian in November 2020.
“I’m so excited and proud to be officially committed to play golf for Marian University!” she wrote in an Instagram post at the time, including a photo of her signing her letter of intent. “Can’t wait for the next four years as a Knight.”
Schneider graduated from Rockford High School in May 2021.
She saw action in three golf events as a sophomore, according to the university’s website.
Schneider has some work to do to reach Spiranac’s level of fame, but the future looks bright for the college athlete.
