The fans are hungry for more Yellowstone. And it looks like Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly are definitely interested in returning for more.
With the hit Paramount Network series set to return this weekend for what could be its final season ever, Hauser teased that there may be more to come.
“You never know whether it’s coming to an end or not, so we’ll see,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “But I think what [creator Taylor Sheridan] wrote and the way that he kind of suited it all up, it’s wonderful and if it ends, then it ends. It’s been one hell of a run, it’s been one of my favorite jobs.”
And Sheridan certainly has a lot to work with when it comes to Reilly and Hauser’s characters, Rip Wheeler and Beth Dutton, daughter to Kevin Costner‘s patriarch. The couple have become a fan favorite, so much so, there are rumors that the show may pivot in Costner’s absence to focus on them.
“You can go on forever about these two. There’s no walls when it comes to them, no limits,” he said of Rip and Beth.
He added, “As long as Taylor wants to write something special, I know Kelly and I would be interested to do it.”
It sounds like there may still be hope. Hauser has previously expressed that he would gladly stay on the show for more episodes if they’ll have him, which is promising after one Puck report revealed Reilly and Hauser were closing deals to lead the series after Costner’s dramatic exit.
“I don’t make the decisions, brother — I’m a hired gun,” Hauser recently told Cigar Aficionado. “Would I like a spinoff? Yeah. It’s been a pleasure working with this cast, with Taylor Sheridan; why would we stop a good thing? Yeah, pen it and let’s do it.”
There are also rumors that the stars will be joining the upcoming Yellowstone spinoff The Madison.
While Paramount previously announced that Season 5 will be the end, it sounds like Sheridan and the Yellowstone crew are secretly working on something.
Even Costner is teasing that there may be more coming down the pipeline. “Five seasons was a lot for us to do, and I think that story is not finished,” he recently said.
