The PGA Tour season is getting into full swing.
Most of golf’s biggest names are sitting out this weekend’s Cognizant Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t plenty of intriguing betting possibilities on the slate.
Here’s two picks for this weekend’s action at PGA National Members Club in South Florida, which begins Thursday morning.
Thompson, 25, has come into his own over the past year.
In addition to winning the John Deere Classic in July, his first career PGA Tour win, Thomson finished T-2 in another pair of tournaments.
He hasn’t had quite that level of success early this year, but he’s been consistent, making five of six cuts, leading up to a 13th-place finish at the star-studded Genesis Open two weeks ago.
In this field of players, Thompson is as reliable as any.

Here’s a name the average golf fan will recognize.
Young has consistently been in the mix during his young career, finishing runner-up seven times and top five a total of 10 times.
In 2025, he’s missed a couple of cuts, but a couple of strong showings prove his golf game is in a decent place early this season, finishing T-12 at the Phoenix Open and T-8 at The Sentry.
At last year’s Cognizant Class, Young finished T-4, just four shots behind winner Austin Eckroat.
Look for him to have another strong showing in South Florida, with an outside shot at his first career PGA Tour win.
