The Rhodes clan has enough for a tag-team match now.
WWE stars Cody and Brandi Rhodes announced the birth of their second daughter on Friday, introducing Leilani Ella Runnels on Instagram.
She joins big sister Liberty Iris, 4.
“We are in love,” Brandi wrote, accompanied by a picture of her holding the newborn’s hand. “Thank you God for answered prayers. Cody + Brandi + Libby + Lani = ❤️”
Cody posted a photo of Liberty wearing a pink “Big Sister” hat.
The WWE superstar is in for an adjustment after having previously detailed the changes Liberty brought to his life.
“So wrestling is selfish, and you got to get to the top, and you want to be number one,” he told People. “And for so long — I even said this to [pro wrestler] Kevin Owens last week in the ring — I wanted it for me.
“To a degree, maybe I wanted it for my dad a little. I wanted it for him,” he added. “Having a daughter right out of the gate, all of that went away. It was not about where I am. It was more about the life that I could give her.
“You have to really search inside your soul, like, how much do you really mean that?” the two-time Intercontinental Championship winner continued. “And for me, I felt like, no, that’s really it. I just want her to have the best life.”
Brandi, who retired from the profession in 2022, serves as a ring announcer for WWE after having previously been the chief brand officer and EVP — in addition to performing in the ring — for AEW.
She and Cody married in 2016.
Cody, the son of legendary wrestler Dusty Rhodes, is the WWE’s current Undisputed champion and the outfit’s reigning King of the Ring.
Now, they’ll both have a new contender to wrestle with — on a much smaller mat, too.
