A group of “cocky” tourists nearly got swept out to sea while trying to snap a vacation photo on Iceland’s most dangerous beach.

A man and a woman made their way toward the shoreline and held their hands high above their heads with their backs to the camera to shoot a cute snap at Black Sand Beach in Iceland.

Moments later a small wave crashed against the shore, its wake stretching up toward the tourists, who tried to run away but were unable to escape its powerful grip.

They both fall, but the man was able to right himself before rushing to grabbing onto the woman to keep her from being swept out into the water.

“Two ‘cocky’ tourist were taken down by a powerful wave at Black Sand Beach in Iceland – one of the most dangerous beaches in the world,” a TikTok user named Kelsey, who took the video, wrote.

“The number one rule at this beach is: ‘Never turn your back on the waves’ and to not go where you can’t see other footprints.”

Kelsey said the beach is dangerous because of its “sneaker waves” that “look calm and small, but are in fact so powerful, they drag people out to the ocean and people have died here.”

This is what happens when you’re a cocky tourist and don’t listen the rules ???? whyyyy are people like this?! Black Sand Beach is Icelands Most Dangerous Beaches (and one of the most dangerous beaches in the world) due to “sneaker waves” that look calm and small, but are in fact so powerful, they drag people out to the ocean and people have died here. The number 1 rule at this beach is: “Never turn your back on the waves” and to not go where you can’t see orher footprints. Some people will do anything for a video/photo. ???? #iceland #blacksandbeach #blacksandbeachiceland #blacksand #reynisfjara #reynisfjarablacksandbeach #blackbeach #icelandbucketlist #thingstodoiniceland #icelandtravel #icelandadventure #icelandvolcanoeruption #icelandblacksandbeach #icelandtravel

Black Sand Beach – also known as Reynisfjara beach — is located along the Southern coast of the island and is known for its black sand, which comes from the volcanic activity in the area.
