Love is in the air! Cobra Kai stars Tanner Buchanan and Mary Mouser shocked fans everywhere when they walked the red carpet together Feb. 12 at the series finale event, sparking romance rumors. But it turns out the co-stars had another surprise announcement to share: They’re engaged!

After the couple showed off matching rings on their left hands, they shared a statement on social media confirming the rumors.

“We’re so happy to finally share that we’re engaged,” Tanner wrote. “This is such a special moment in our lives, the closing of one chapter and celebrating the continuation of another.”

He continued, “We’re so grateful for the love and support, and though we’re partial to having our private moments, we’re excited to share this check-in to our world.”

Series creator Jon Hurwitz alslo weighed in on the happy news on social media.

“We’re matchmakers first, showrunners second,” he wrote in a post on X. “Our primary goal with Cobra Kai was for Daniel LaRusso’s daughter and Johnny Lawrence’s son to fall in love in real life. Mission accomplished. So happy for them! A perfect couple!”

In Cobra Kai, Mouser starred as the daughter of Karate Kid champion Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), while Buchanan starred as the once-estranged son of Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka).

The couple briefly played on-screen lovers in the hit Netflix show, until Sam returned to dating Johnny’s prodigy, Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueña).

This news comes just as Cobra Kai reaches the end of its run on Netflix. After premiering in 2018, the Netflix dramedy offered Karate Kid fans a happy ending for everyone involved.

The final season of Cobra Kai is streaming now on Netflix.
