Add Clara Fernandez’s name to the ever-growing list of athletes making a splash in the influencer space.
The 19-year-old pole vaulter, who hails from Spain, boasts nearly 500,000 followers across her Instagram and TikTok platforms.
A Nike athlete, Fernandez has gained recognition online as the “Paige Spiranac of pole vaulting,” as her content continuously racks up views and likes from fans.
In addition to sharing photos from training sessions and meets, Fernandez — who has won at least 21 titles since 2018, according to The Sun — frequently posts snapshots from her travels, including a dreamy getaway in March to Fuerteventura, one of Spain’s Canary Islands.
“Already in love with this island,” she captioned a series of Instagram snaps that also featured her beau, businessman Marc Lerch.
Though Fernandez enjoyed some R&R in paradise, she’s been continuously working on her craft.
Last year, she failed to reach the final at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Colombia.
“At the gates of the finals,” she began on Instagram in August 2022.
“I dreamed of being in that final, I gave it my all, but it wasn’t enough. After a season full of injuries, I can only be grateful to have come this far and keep trying.”
Fernandez is certainly embracing the “new.”
In a video shared on TikTok in May, Fernandez proudly declared, “New season, new outfit pt. II,” as she modeled Nike looks.
Elsewhere on the viral video platform, Fernandez gave followers a look at a warm-up that involved hurdles.
The video, which appeared on her TikTok page on May 1, was posted the same day Fernandez shared an encouraging message on Instagram.
“To get something you never had. You have to do something you never did,” she wrote.
