The Black-Eyed Susan race is a one 1/8 mile race for 3-year-old fillies on the Pimlico Race Course. Speedy fillies have been competing in the race since 1919, which has traditionally held on the Friday before the Preakness and is named after the Black-Eyed Susan, the state flower of Maryland.
