Drew Barrymore threw Chris Pratt for a loop when, instead of talking about his new film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, they had a deep discussion about dating and love.

While chatting on this morning’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, Barrymore told Pratt that she’s been single for seven years. When he asked if she was ready to date again, she said she’s looking for something “fun and lovely.”

“You know what I really want? Just to get along and be happy. I don’t want any drama. I just want to just enjoy life,” she said, to which Pratt replied, “That’s good. If you want that, I think you should be able to find that.”

He added, “Knowing that you want that is important. Don’t go for a difficult person.”

Barrymore proceeded to hug the Guardians of the Galaxy actor and thank him for “confirming” her “best hopes” before he went on to dish on how easy it was to fall in love with his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, whom he married in 2019 — only one year after they first began dating.

“God has a fast-forward button. When it’s right, ‘Boom!’ You fall in love, you get married,” he said. “Now we have two beautiful daughters to add to my family and it feels really great.”

Pratt went on to explain how he was “struggling” and felt “really broken” at a point in his life, prompting him to find a “higher power,” which ultimately “saved” him just before meeting Schwarzenegger, who he referred to as “the woman of my dreams.”

“It’s all about timing,” he told Barrymore. “There’s a perfect plan out there for you. And I think you just got to have faith and the minute you have faith, it falls into place.”

When the talk show host asked if he’s “always had access to this type of depth,” Pratt quipped, “Not until the moment I sat right down in this chair. I had no idea. I think you have this magic ability to pull this out of people.”
