Mark Cuban made headlines when he declared on a recent episode of The View that Donald Trump is “never” seen around “strong, intelligent women.” However, Chris Christie does not think the controversial remark with sway undecided voters either way.
The former governor of New Jersey appeared on this morning’s episode of The View, where he shaded Cuban — who has endorsed Kamala Harris for president — for often saying “really stupid stuff.”
“In the last few days [before the election], I think voters who are undecided are looking to listen to the candidates. I think the surrogates have minimal value in these last few days on both sides,” Christie said. “I don’t think people care what Lindsey Graham thinks on the Republican side or what Mark Cuban thinks.”
The Republican politician then went on to address Cuban’s recent remarks directly.
“Look, Cuban has a history of saying really stupid stuff. Mark doesn’t think before he talks,” he said.
The other co-hosts quickly pointed out Cuban’s success as a “smart” businessman, but Christie doubled down on his initial statement.
“He is, but he says stupid things because he doesn’t think before he talks,” he insisted.
Alyssa Farah Griffin, who previously worked for the Trump administration, chimed in to defend Cuban, who has since apologized and stated that he was not speaking about any current or former Trump supporters, voters or employees.

“He also walked it back, it genuinely wasn’t what he meant,” Griffin said. “I talked to him yesterday. He knows I worked for Trump, he wasn’t directly insulting me to my face, he was talking about, ‘Trump will only allow a certain level of pushback from advisers before he casts you out.’”
However, Griffin added, “It doesn’t mean it wasn’t messy.”
According to Christie, anyone who speaks on behalf of a candidate must “be careful.”
“The problem with all that is that people listen to what you say and you got to be careful in the last few days of a presidential race if you’re gonna be speaking on behalf of a candidate,” he concluded. “Be careful.”
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
