Chloe Fineman is being roasted online for her awkward exchange with Stella McCartney, Aubrey Plaza and Madelyn Cline at the 2023 Met Gala on Monday night.
“Wow, look at these three lovely ladies,” the “Saturday Night Live” comedian, who was co-hosting Vogue’s livestream, began.
“We have Stella McCartney, Madelyn Cline and Audrey ….,” she then said, seemingly forgetting Plaza’s last name.
The “Parks and Recreation” alum, 38, leaned in to the mic and joked that it was “Slutbone.”
“Well, I’ll take it,” Fineman, 34, said in response as she nodded at the camera.
Her co-host Derek Blasberg stood alongside her just laughing along.
Fans on social media were upset that Fineman messed up Plaza’s name.
“Not Aubrey Plaza repeatedly being called Audrey by Chloe Fineman. Show some respect. #MetGala,” one person tweeted.
Another wrote, “chloe fineman keeps calling aubrey plaza ‘audrey’ oh my god vogue you flopped on the hosts tonight.”
However, others pointed out that the flub was likely a comedic bit between the two women.
“Oh my God people!! of course Chloe Fineman knows who Aubrey plaza is. Aubrey was just on SNL!!,” one person wrote.

A second user tweeted, “my tiktok is just people thinking that Chloe Fineman Aubrey Plaza interview is real just not a crumb of critical thinking left for anyone.”
A third wrote alongside a video of a skit of Fineman and Plaza making out, “People getting mad and thinking Chloe Fineman actually flubbed Aubrey Plaza’s name with ‘who is this woman?!?’ lol”
However, aside from Fineman and Plaza’s banter, there was another moment that caught the viewers’ attention.
At one point during the interview, the “Babylon” actress — clearly reading from a teleprompter — laughed nervously as she began to ask McCartney, 51, a question.
“You’re not taking this seriously,” the Adidas designer then said, to which Fineman insisted, “I am, I am.”
“No, I’ll be more serious,” she continued. “No, because my name is Chloe and you took over for Karl Lagerfeld at Chloe in 1997. How did you work with his legacy at the house?”
“This was so uncomfortable for no reason lol,” one Met Gala fan tweeted.
Another noted, “Chloe and Derek were just cringe as a whole… even if this was a ‘bit’ was bad. And the production team at Vogue did themselves ZERO favors with keeping a hot mic on them for the whole livestream.”
They concluded, “We quickly learned that they CANNOT VAMP in any way, shape or form. SO AWKWARD.”
A rep for Fineman did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
The Met Gala was also attended Monday night by a slew of celebrities, including Jennifer Lopez, Salma Hayek, Pedro Pascal, Jared Leto, Viola Davis and Fineman’s former “SNL” colleague Pete Davidson, who reunited with ex Kim Kardashian inside.
