A child was shot near a playground on Staten Island Friday afternoon, police and sources said. 

The boy, who sources believe to be a teen, was shot just before 4 p.m. around Fulton and Warren streets near the Stapleton Houses, according to cops said. 

EMS rushed the youth to Richmond University Hospital. 

The extent of his injuries was not immediately clear.
