Chiefs coach Andy Reid was asked if the team was told to tone it down for this year’s Super Bowl parade after some over-the-top moments from the one a season ago.
“That was mentioned a couple of times. It’s great to have fun. But be smart,” Reid told reporters.
Last year’s celebration included rookie defensive back Jaylen Watson leaving the parade in a wheelchair.
Nearly 1 million fans made it to the parade last year, according to KCUR.
While it is unclear if anyone will need medical assistance, Patrick Mahomes did foreshadow a potential topless appearance Wednesday after he went viral for his dad-bod earlier in the playoffs.
“I might have to bring the dad bod out,” Mahomes said on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
“That was a bad angle, so I might bring it back out. I am for sure going to have a few Coors lattes. I am going to have a good time with my teammates. I know the parade route by now. There’s nothing better than that Super Bowl parade, and Kansas City always show up and shows out.”
It will be the third parade in five years for Mahomes after he led the Chiefs to a 25-22 overtime victory over the 49ers in Super Bowl 2024 on Sunday.
Mahomes threw for 333 yards and engineered a flawless game-winning drive in overtime — hitting Mecole Hardman for the deciding score — to earn his third Super Bowl MVP trophy.
Mahomes will likely be joined by his wife Brittany on the parade route, however his good friend Travis Kelce is not expected to have his lady by his side.
Australian websites reported that Taylor Swift is headed their way for the resumption of her “Eras Tour” on Friday night (Melbourne time).
