Dallas police are reportedly searching for Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice in connection with a major car accident that occurred on Saturday night, according to the Dallas Morning News.
A vehicle “believed to be registered or leased to” the 23-year-old was involved in a car crash in northeast Dallas around 6:20 p.m. CT, per law enforcement officials, and a police sheet obtained by the Dallas Morning News reveals that police are looking for Rice in an investigation of the crash.
As of Sunday morning, Rice’s level of involvement in the accident is unknown as well as if he will face any charges.
Law enforcement has also not disclosed details of the crash or whether any injuries were suffered.
Rice did not appear in Dallas County jail records as of Sunday morning.
The newly crowned Super Bowl champ grew up in North Richland Hills outside of Fort Worth.
He later played four years at SMU before he was selected by the Chiefs in the second round (55th overall) of last year’s NFL draft.
In his rookie season, Rice had 79 receptions for 938 yards, tallying a team-leading seven touchdown catches across 16 game appearances, including eight starts.

He was Kansas City’s top wideout option last season, coming in second on the team in receptions and receiving yards behind star tight end Travis Kelce.
In the Chiefs’ four-game postseason run to win their second straight Super Bowl title and their third in the last five seasons, Rice had 26 catches for 262 yards and a touchdown.
Rice had six catches for 39 yards in the Chiefs’ Super Bowl 2024 win over the 49ers.
