Much like Swifties everywhere, Gracie Hunt is “so excited” to see the love story between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce blossom before her very eyes.
Speaking recently to Charly Arnolt on “OutKick the Morning,” the daughter of Chiefs owner Clark Hunt spoke about the pop superstar’s NFL presence amid her relationship with Kansas City’s star tight end.
“First of all, I think we’re all so excited to see two such phenomenal people happy. I mean, it’s so easy for us to cheer for and for the entire world to cheer for because they’re wonderful for each other, and it’s just been so fun to watch this love story unfold. So, that’s just been so special to see how happy they are,” Hunt said.
“And also, to have so many young, especially female fans, watching football, interested in football and maybe considering playing flag football and also cheering for the Chiefs.”
The sparks between Swift and Kelce, both 34, initially flew over the summer, when the two-time Super Bowl champion stated on his “New Heights” podcast how he missed an opportunity to connect with the singer during her Eras Tour stop in Kansas City.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings, so I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” Kelce said in July.
Swift heard about Kelce’s remarks and the two began hanging out shortly after.
“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” Swift told Time as part of her “Person of the Year” cover story for 2023.
“We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.”
When Swift attended her first Chiefs game on Sept. 24, she and Kelce “were a couple.”
“I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date,” she said.
Since that September appearance, Swift has attended eight Chiefs games, including Kansas City’s Christmas Day loss to the Raiders on Monday.
Hunt, who has spent time with Swift this season, told OutKick she’s seen more female supporters in the gameday crowd.
“They’re holding the signs. They’re saying, whatever it is, ‘I’m here for Taylor’ or ‘I’m here for Taylor’s boyfriend,'” the former Miss Kansas USA winner said.
The Chiefs, now 9-6, will look to bounce back Sunday against the Bengals in a New Year’s Eve showdown at Arrowhead Stadium.
It remains to be seen if Swift will close out the year with Chiefs Kingdom.
