Chris Jones got a little emotional before Super Bowl 2024 kicked off.
The Chiefs star shed some tears during the national anthem at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, as country music star Reba McEntire sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” on Sunday.
The moment came a year after Eagles coach Nick Sirianni got lost in the moment ahead of Super Bowl 2023 in what became a viral video clip.
Sirianni’s Philadelphia squad fell to Jones’ Chiefs, 38-35 last year.
Jones, the five-time Pro-Bowler, has a chance to earn his third Super Bowl ring against San Francisco in the Chiefs’ fourth appearance in the big game in the last five seasons.
Throughout the season, the defending champions struggled without former offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and receiver Tyreek Hill, yet they managed to finish the season 11-6 and dominated on the road for the first time in the playoffs under quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

In 2023, Jones has racked up 10.5 sacks and a combined 30 tackles including 13 of which were tackles for loss. He also accumulated 29 quarterback hits.
