Dolly Parton has won over Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and his daughter Charlotte Jones after her electric performance during halftime of Thursday’s game against the Commanders.
Jones and Charlotte, Dallas’ executive vice president and chief brand officer, praised the 77-year-old country legend after she rocked the stage at AT&T Stadium while dressed in a bedazzled Dallas Cowboys cheerleading uniform.
“@dollyparton for PRESIDENT!!!” Charlotte wrote on her Instagram Story, including a photo of Parton on stage.
She also shared a selfie with a group of people in a private suite at the game, captioned: “Dolly for president.”
Jerry was certainly thrilled after Dallas’ 45-10 win over Washington, which included a historic fifth pick-six from cornerback DaRon Bland.
“I don’t know that I’ve had a day like this and I’ll include them all, I’ll put Super Bowls in there, I don’t know if I’ve ever had a better day with the Cowboys than today,” Jones said after the game, according to ESPN’s Ed Werder.
Parton’s performance was part of the launch of the Red Kettle Campaign, which is a longtime partnership between the Cowboys and The Salvation Army that strives to raise both awareness and funds for those that need it most in communities across the United States.
Charlotte is a former national advisory board chairperson for The Salvation Army.
This marked the 27th year the Cowboys and the Salvation Army partnered to kick off the National Red Kettle Campaign during halftime of their Thanksgiving Day game.
Parton, who performed in front of 80,000 fans Thursday, donated $1 million to the Red Kettle Campaign.
The donation will cover “two and a half million meals” to those in need, Charlotte said in an interview with the 10-time Grammy winner.
“And over 13,000 kids that wouldn’t have Santa Claus and now you’re going to give them Santa Claus,” she added.
