Charissa Thompson tried to dress for the occasion, but it didn’t exactly work out.

The Fox Sports host revealed her intimate wardrobe mishap on the “Calm Down” podcast with co-host Erin Andrews on Monday as the two were comparing preseason schedules.

With the workload increasing in the coming weeks, Thompson and her boyfriend, marketing executive Steve Cundari, took a “last hurrah rendezvous.”

“By the way, I did buy lingerie,” the 41-year-old “Thursday Night Football” host said. “Come on, you gotta make an effort. I’m like a comfy clothes kinda gal .. every now and then, I’m like, OK, I’m gonna spice it up, you know? Give him what he wants.”

As it turned out, neither got what they wanted.

“Couldn’t wear the lingerie because the room was so disgusting,” Thompson recalled. “I literally held up the stuff, I go, ‘I had this for you.’ And he goes, ‘Can’t put it on in here. Gross, gross, hazmat suit. We need a hazmat suit.'”

In the end, Thompson only had herself to blame as she picked the hotel against Cundari’s protestations.

“We ended up in a room that, I don’t know, must have been 300 years old,” Thompson said. “The fan was spinning so fast on the ceiling it was gonna like fly off… you leave your shoes on in the hotel room. The outlet, it was broken so when you went to turn the light off, it would zap you. We didn’t even take a shower because the shower was so disgusting.”

“And this is coming from someone who takes four showers a day!” Andrews interjected.

“Imagine how repulsed I was with myself when I’m like, we’re halfway through the day and I haven’t had one shower yet because I can’t,” Thompson continued. “It was a curtain, and the bottom was brown, there wasn’t even a liner on the thing.”

The rest of the hotel was seemingly fine, she claimed — a fact she and Cundari were able to experience when their room was finally moved, though the mood was tainted for the rest of the weekend.

“We made the most of it and still had a great time,” Thompson said.

Still, the former ESPN reporter did concede that Cundari gets to pick the hotels going forward.
