Real estate aficionado and celebrity shutterbug supreme Annie Leibovitz, 75, has sold her West Village loft for $8 million, according to property records. The news was first reported by Crain’s.

The full-floor residence, with its 60-foot row of striking steel-clad windows showcasing the Hudson River, first hit the market for $8.5 million in January.

The industrial-chic dwelling is at 495 West St., between Jane and West 12th streets. It’s in architect/developer Cary Tamarkin’s nine-story, seven-unit boutique building, which dates to 1998 and boasts full-floor apartments and two duplexes. The building helped anchor Hudson River Park.

The legendary photographer was most recently on the road to photograph Vice President Kamala Harris and Liz Cheney in Wisconsin for Vogue magazine. She has been photographing US presidential elections since 1972 when she traveled with Hunter S. Thompson to cover George McGovern’s run against Richard Nixon.

Leibovitz paid $6.5 million for the live-work unit, which was most recently set up as a photography studio in 2022, according to records.

For Leibovitz, the loft was a way for her to downsize. She previously owned a Civil War-era West Village compound that she sold for $28.5 million to David and Lauren Bush Lauren.

It’s been a good real estate year for Leibovitz. In February, she sold her Upper West Side residence at 88 Central Park West for $10.62 million. That was more than 23% above its $8.6 million asking price, although still less than the $11.3 million she had paid for the unit in 2014.

Residents over the years at the building, known as the Brentmore, included Sting, Robert De Niro, Paul Simon and Lorne Michaels.

This just-sold pad is a roomy 3,198 square feet and comes with two bedrooms and 2½ bathrooms. Before Leibovitz owned it, the property was asking $10.5 million back in 2019.

The home opens from a keyed elevator into a main living space with river and downtown views. There’s a woodburning fireplace, heated bluestone floors, a wet bar and an open eat-in kitchen. A library nook with custom bookshelves adds charm, but it can also be converted into a third bedroom.

The main bedroom suite has a large walk-in closet and a windowed spa-like bath.

Design details include floor-to-ceiling columns.
