There’s been quite a shift in the NFL after Micah Parsons was traded to the Packers on Thursday afternoon, and with it came plenty of reactions.
The surprising move cost the Packers two first-round picks and three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark to bring the two-time All-Pro edge rusher to Green Bay.
And the reactions of CeeDee Lamb and Jordan Love likely encapsulated the feelings in Cowboys country and Packer land, respectively.
Following the news, Lamb posted a singular emoji to his Instagram story along with sharing a post about the trade.
Lamb put an emoji with a single tear running down its face as his reaction to the news, likely indicating that he was sad to see his teammate head to another team.
Lamb was a major advocate for Parsons to get a new deal befitting of what he felt Parsons was owed.
“Never fails dawg. Just pay the man, what you owe em. No need for the extra curricular,” Lamb wrote in a post on X earlier this month.
On the other hand, Love seemed over the moon when he reacted in his Instagram story.
The Packers quarterback shared an ESPN graphic about the trade and added three flame emojis.
In a stunning twist of fate, FS1’s “First Things First” was live on air when the cast learned of the news, which led to Danny Parkins putting his head in his hands as co-host Kevin Wildes paused a conversation about the Cowboys possibly trading Parsons to inform everyone it had just happened.
Former NFLer and current broadcaster Emmanuel Acho predicted that Jerry Jones trading Parsons will “go down as one of the biggest Football mistakes of his career” in a post on X.
“Somebody tell Jerry you draft a player, and hope they become Micah Parsons so that you can keep them for life. Not just give them away. Ego did this. Foolish mistake!” he wrote.
Parsons has already agreed to a new four-year deal with the Packers worth $188 million — with $135 guaranteed.
