The news about Angel Hernandez’s retirement has seemed to draw plenty of excited reactions from baseball fans — and it seemed like one former Yankee was happy about it as well.

CC Sabathia reacted to the news by quote tweeting a video of his rant against Hernandez from 2018 with a GIF of the Looney Toons outro where Porky Pig says, “That’s all folks.”

News of Hernandez’s retirement was first reported by USA Today on Monday night and he later confirmed the news in a statement.

“I have decided that I want to spend more time with my family,” Hernandez said as part of a statement. “Needless to say, there have been many positive changes in the game of baseball since I first entered the profession. This includes the expansion and promotion of minorities. I am proud that I was able to be an active participant in that goal while being a Major League umpire.”

Hernandez is baseball’s most controversial umpire and is universally disliked by players and fans alike for the missing obvious calls over his umping career.

Sabathia bashed Hernandez and the job he was doing during the 2018 MLB postseason after a 4-3 ALDS Game 4 loss to the Red Sox ended the Yankees season.

“I do need to say this though, I don’t think Angel Hernandez should be umping playoff games,” Sabathia said at the time. “He’s absolutely terrible. He was terrible behind the plate today, he was terrible at first base. It’s amazing how he’s getting a job to umpiring in these playoff games.”

He added: “He shouldn’t be anywhere near a playoff game.”

Sabathia started that game, allowing three runs over three innings, in what would be his final postseason start.

Hernandez, 61, worked his last game back on May 9 as the home plate ump in a game between the White Sox and Guardians in Cleveland.
