Carlos Alcaraz grabbed his fourth major title and second Wimbledon men’s singles championship on Sunday in a stunning win over No. 2 Novak Djokovic.

In what was expected to be a close match on Sunday quickly looked like it would go otherwise, as No. 3 Alcaraz came out strong and continued until he clinched the win in just three sets 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (4).

It wasn’t until the third set that Djokovic broke Alcaraz’s service for the first time in the match and started to settle in to his game.

The Serbian star was able to stretch the set into a tiebreak — something the crowd appeared to be hoping for — but fell short to Alcaraz on a failed return off of his dominating serve.

The Spaniard had five aces and won five of his 14 break points.

It was only a year ago that the pair met on grass in what was a thrilling five-set match across four hours and 42 minutes, showcasing two of the best generational talents.

Sunday’s match showed Alcaraz’s young prowess at 21 compared to the 37-year-old Djokovic.

Prior to the final, Djokovic led 3-2 across six of their past meetings.

His four major titles have come on three different surfaces — the others including the US Open 2022, Wimbledon Championship 2023, and the French Open 2024.
