And the Team USA-Canada sequel lived up to all the hype.

It was the Canadians who came out on top and won 3-2 in an overtime thriller in the championship game at TD Garden in Boston on Connor McDavid’s goal in overtime.

Nathan MacKinnon got things started for Canada at the 4:48 mark of the first period before the U.S. answered with two after Brady Tkachuk knotted things up in the opening frame and Jake Sanderson — in for the injured Charlie McAvoy — scored in the second.

But Sam Bennett evened things up shortly after, and a scoreless third sent things to an overtime before McDavid further etched his name into hockey lore.
