Caitlyn Jenner’s longtime friend and manager Sophia Hutchins has died in an ATV crash in Malibu, Calif. She was 29.
Hutchins was driving the vehicle near Jenner’s $3.5 million Malibu condo when she collided with the bumper of a moving car on Wednesday morning, TMZ reported.
The impact threw Hutchins and her ATV vehicle off the road and down a 350-foot ravine, police sources told the outlet.
Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene. No one else was injured.
It was unclear where Jenner, 75, was at the time of the fatal crash.
The duo met in 2015 through their hairstylists. At the time, the Olympic gold medalist came out as transgender, subsequently kickstarting their transition process.
Hutchins, who was also a transgender woman, appeared in several episodes of Jenner’s E!’s reality show, “I Am Cait.”
In 2017, Hutchins moved in with the former decathlete and became her manager.
Since then, the duo had been inseparable and Hutchins often joined Jenner at family events hosted by the Kardashians.
Their close friendship sparked a slew of dating rumors, which both Hutchins and Jenner vehemently denied on multiple occasions.
In 2018, the Pepperdine grad insisted her relationship with Jenner was “never romantic.”
“It was never romantic. Never sexual. It was very much friends but I understand why people perceived it that way. We never addressed it and that was part of the problem,” Hutchins said at the time. “It’s more parental. I date guys. And Caitlyn’s like, I gotta sign off on him. It’s very parental, very protective. We’re family. It’s an interesting family situation. All of my family is.”
“We met through our hairstylists. He was doing my hair one day and was like, ‘I’m going to a photoshoot after this, something with Caitlyn and MAC. And Caitlyn would like to meet you,’” Hutchins added of Jenner, who is 46 years her senior.
And in 2021, Hutchins once again reaffirmed that she was not romantically involved with the former “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star.
“There’s no hanky panky,” Hutchins told People. “I feel like I’ve been saying that for the past five years.”
In 2020, Hutchins solidified her spot in the Kardashian-Jenner clan after she starred in an ad campaign for Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS shapewear brand.
“I’m on good terms with all the family, but I’m closest with Kris [Jenner], Kim, Kylie and Kendall [Jenner],” Hutchins said in 2019.
Born April 1, 1996 in Bellevue, Wash., Hutchins graduated from Pepperdine University in 2019 with a degree in economics and finance.

During her junior year at the prestigious college, Hutchins resigned from her post as the president of the Class of 2018 to complete her gender transition.
Hutchins went ahead with her transition after becoming inspired by Jenner’s coming out story in a “20/20″ interview.
She went on to launch a sunscreen mist company Lumasol SPF, of which she served as CEO.
In addition to being Jenner’s manager and business partner, Hutchins previously served as the CEO and director of the Caitlyn Jenner Foundation, an organization helping LGBTQ people.
