NextImg:Business guru blasted for pulling kids from school because teacher was ‘200 pounds overweight’

A business guru and social media influencer has come under fire for admitting he pulled his children out of their school after learning their teacher was “200 pounds overweight.”

Kris Krohn — a self-described real estate investor and breakthrough mentor — proudly shared his body-shaming rhetoric with his 1.2 million followers in a TikTok posted earlier this month.

“The day I put my kids out of school was when I was at a parent-teacher conference and the teacher was 200 pounds overweight,” Krohn said, appearing in an office with his feet kicked up on a chair.

“I looked at her and I said, ‘No, you’re low energy, you’re depressed. You’re spending more time with my kid during the day probably than I am. And I’m concerned with the amount of influence that you’re exerting. Because what you’re teaching is not what’s in the book. It’s how you’re living your life. You are not an inspiring human being.'”

The four-time real estate author then went on a tirade claiming that most teachers are “uninspired” and hate their notoriously low-paying jobs, but have the benefit of job security.

If it were up to him, Krohn asserted that he would only choose the “coolest, most experienced, fittest” teachers who could teach meaning, fulfillment and happiness.

The video racked up more than 250,000 views and was flooded with commenters who were split on Krohn’s take — some applauded the coach’s insights, while others slammed him for body-shaming the teacher and assuming she was unfit for the job.

“Obesity is a medical condition not a character flaw or a morality issue. This post is confidently ignorant. Your kids should be in school,” one user wrote.

“I’m overweight and a great teacher! I may not be cool and fit but I’m really good at what I do. You make some great points but lost me on weight shame,” another said.

Many viewers said they had agreed with Krohn’s points that teachers are severely underpaid and that choosing a child’s teacher would be ideal, but said he had no right to judge based on appearances.

Krohn claimed he told the teacher she was “not inspiring.”

“How does he know she was depressed? If she told him, he should be nice and suggest she reach out to the admin for help. Not bash her on social media,” said one.

Some users even took aim at Krohn and gave him a taste of his own medicine.

“Should we judge balding men too?” one questioned.

Others called him a “narcissist” and other, less savory names.

Another wrote: “Oh my … I think you did that school a favor.”

Why Your Kids Teacher Is So Important

Krohn, however, doubled down and posted a follow-up video almost two weeks later titled “Why Your Kids Teacher Is So Important.”

“The teacher and your kid’s life is going to spend more time with them than you are. So ask yourself, have you qualified this individual?” Krohn said.

He then rattles off a list of questions he believes parents should ask themselves when evaluating their child’s teacher, including some echoes of what he mentioned in the original video.

In a subsequent video, Krohn made the case for homeschooling, saying parents could “handpick the mentor” of their child.

“Do you agree with what they feel their purposes is, the level of energy that they bring, or how much passion they have, or how qualified they are? … The choices they’re making in their personal life, health that they’re influencing your kid with?” he questions.

Krohn then nosedives into his ultimate argument: that parents should consider homeschooling their children as an alternative because it allows parents to “handpick the mentor” of their kids.

Teachers have taken to social media to share their own stories about dealing with the job, with many saying the conditions have forced them to leave their posts.

The tag #TeacherQuitTok is flooded with hundreds of videos of former educators detailing their qualms of teaching, including below-standard pay and dealing with difficult parents.
