Outlander Season 7 Episode 8 “Turning Points” ends on the beginning of a whole new era for Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe), but it also plunges fan favorites like Rachel (Izzy Meikle-Small), Rollo, and Roger (Richard Rankin) into a place of acute danger. What’s going to happen next to our beloved Outlander characters? We’ll have to wait until the next all-new episode of Outlander premieres on Starz — but when will Outlander Season 7 Episode 9 come out? Not for a hot minute, unfortunately…
The very first season of Outlander was split into two halves that aired about 6-7 months apart on Starz. Now, Starz is trying a similar programming plan with the penultimate season of Outlander.
Outlander Season 7 has been split into two halves. The first eight episode ran during the summer of 2023. The last eight episodes are currently scheduled to premiere on Starz some time in early 2024. While this does mean Outlander fans will have to be patient for more Jamie and Claire, it also means that the final seasons of Outlander are being stretched out to last longer. (And that’s good, right?)
Here’s everything we know so far about when Outlander Season 7 Part 2 airs on Starz…
Hoping to find out what happens next to Claire, Jamie, Young Ian, Rachel, Roger, Brianna, and their new pal, the Nuckelavee? You won’t be able to watch the next episode of Outlander Season 7 for a while.
Outlander Season 7 Episode 9 — aka the start of Outlander Season 7 Part 2 — won’t premiere until early 2024.

Outlander Season 7 Part 2 is scheduled to premiere early in 2024 on Starz. Hopefully this means January 2024 and not, say, April 2024. Decider will keep you posted as soon as we have more information as to the Outlander Season 7 Part 2 premiere date.
There are sixteen episodes total in Outlander Season 7. As with past seasons, Starz has split those 16 episodes into two 8 episode-long halves.
The first eight episodes of Outlander Season 7 premiered over Summer 2023. The second half Outlander Season 7 will be on Starz in early 2024.
We have some good news and some bad news. The good news is this is not the last season of Outlander. The bad news is Outlander has indeed been canceled — but that doesn’t mean it’s close to being over!
Starz has already confirmed that there will be an Outlander Season 8. Not only that, but the eighth and final season of Outlander is far from the end of Starz’s adaptations of Diana Gabaldon’s world. Starz is also making a prequel series about Jamie’s parents, Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie called Blood of my Blood.
Not only that, but Outlander executive producer Maril Davis hasn’t ruled out the idea of returning to Outlander to wrap up Diana Gabaldon’s series once the final books are finally published.
“It would entail us now going on pause, waiting for her to write that book. Is that three years? Is it four years? I don’t know,” Davis told Decider. “I think sometime it has to end. Is this a good time? I’m sure.”
“ I would have loved to have continued, but once again, I don’t know. Maybe we’ll do a different iteration in the future. You know, maybe we’ll come back and tell the end of the story. I mean, we’ll have to end it in some way. But you know, story will obviously still continue in the books.”
Maybe the end isn’t the end, after all. At the very least, we still have more Outlander to look forward to in 2024.
