The Mets are once again in need of a manager. 

Buck Showalter will not return next year, he announced on Sunday. 

It comes just under a month after they hired David Stearns as their new president of baseball operations. 

Showalter took over ahead of the 2022 season, leading the Mets to a 101-61 record before losing in the wild-card round.

But his second season went disastrously, with the Mets entering Sunday 74-86 and long eliminated from the playoffs.
