Uh oh! Bryce has landed himself in trouble on the new Netflix reality competition The Trust: A Game of Greed after revealing his millionaire status.

Premiering January 10, 2024, the show follows 11 strangers as they are given the opportunity to evenly split $250,000.

During the game, players are able to steal money from the group’s collective funds or place a vote to eliminate their housemates.

Bryce, a 22-year-old relator, reveals his big secret in Episode 4, “My Integrity Can’t Be Bought,” during an intimate dinner with his peers.

At the time, the other competitors knew there was a millionaire in the mix as a player submitted the information anonymously during a game in the first episode.

“I hate to interrupt everyone’s conversation, but I do have something to share,” Bryce says, standing up with his wine glass. “I trust each and every one of you, and I want to share my secret. Uncle Brycie is the millionaire!”

28-year-old entrepreneur Julie, who Bryce chose as his dinner mate at the top of the episode, has the most visceral reaction to the news and claims that Bryce doesn’t deserve to be in the competition. She’s been defensive over the money in past episodes, having grown up in poverty.

Several players claim they already knew, including Tolú and Gaspare, and others voice their support, like Jay. But as Bryce continues to talk, Julie shoots him a dangerous sideways look.

“I truly felt that in that moment, it wasn’t the right time to share that. I am an honest and open person, I feel like I have proven that to the group,” Bryce continues. “I truly feel that I can share this with you, I can feel vulnerable in this state.”

Jake, a military contractor, is sitting next to Julie and narrates her reaction in a separate interview. “I can feel tension coming from Julie, right on my left. I can feel that she did not like what she just heard… she comes from a crazy background of having nothing.”

His interpretation of the events are proven to be accurate when Julie expresses in talking head segment, “I’m getting so annoyed with the group how they literally do not care. I wish everybody would shut up and realize how offensive it is, what they’re saying like, ‘Oh Bryce, we respect you so much, you’re so mature.’ First of all, Bryce is a liar and they’re saying things that make me realize how disconnected we are if they can’t see that Bryce really doesn’t deserve this, or that it’s at least not fair that he’s here.”

Later in a conversation between Julie and Bryce, she tells him, “All of [my] dark thoughts go, ‘Fuck you, you don’t deserve it. Must be nice, you had parents, you had food, you had all of this…” To that, Bryce calmly responds, “I haven’t lived your life. I’ve had a very privileged life… It’s nice to say I didn’t have to go and beg for food, it’s nice to say that I didn’t have to go across the street and steal from my neighbors to eat. I can’t relate to you, but I can listen to you.”

Julie then asks him, “How do you make sense of us both being here?”

As the episode continues, the alliance of women players conspire to vote Bryce out with Tolú saying that he’s told too many “lies and half truths.” Winnie works to make a game plan, “So, we vote Bryce off. How does the rest of the game play out? We vote him off and then after that… Jake, that’s going to be next?”

By the time the episode ends, Bryce is clearly in hot water with some of the other players. Will he get voted off in next week’s episode? It seems likely.

The Trust: A Game of Greed is currently streaming on Netflix.
