A lot has been done at tailgates over the years.

But amid the beer guzzling and barbecuing, marriage isn’t often occurring prior to a football game.

Nonetheless, a pair of Browns fans tied the knot at a tailgate outside Huntington Bank Field before the team matchup Sunday against the Bengals.

The ceremony took place in the parking lot, attended by family, friends and fellow fans, many of whom wore Browns jerseys and incorporated the team’s colors into the setup.

The officiant also wore team gear, and a small arch decorated with Browns pennants framed the couple as they exchanged vows.

Videos of the wedding circulated on social media prior to kickoff between the AFC North rivals, showing fans clapping and cheering as the couple completed the ceremony.

The wedding occurred just hours before the start of the game and featured tailgate activities including grills, music, and other fan gatherings already underway.

The couple said they chose a tailgate wedding because football has been an important part of their relationship and wanted the celebration to reflect their shared interest.

Following the ceremony, the Browns were defeated by the Bengals, 17-16.

In the loss, kicker Andre Szmyt missed two key kicks, an extra point and a field goal, which provided a window for the Bengals to take advantage.

Starting quarterback Joe Flacco turned back the clock from a passing production standpoint, throwing for 291 yards, one touchdown and two picks.

The Browns are 0-1 to begin the season, but they’re at least 1-0 in bringing families together despite their year-to-year organizational incompetence.
