Brooke Shields claims her mother, Teri Shields, was so “in love” with her that they both “cut off” from their sexuality.

During Tuesday’s episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show,” the “Blue Lagoon” star was asked if Teri ever dated any of Brooke’s partners – as host Drew Barrymore’s mother did.

“No, because she was in love with me,” Brooke alleged, adding that her mother had no interest in men at the time.

“I was her main focus. Both of us were cut off from our sexuality.”

Drew then joked that her own mother, Jaid Barrymore, was so in love with her that she chose to date her daughter’s boyfriends.

“My mom was so enamored with me that she wanted to be with the people I was with,” the “Charlie’s Angels” actress, 48, explained.

“I get it,” Brooke, 57, responded. “It’s so needy and weird.”

The “Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields” subject also explained that Teri appeared in each one of her interviews when she was a child star because she wanted to protect her.

“No one’s going to get you. I’m going to be there. I’m there first. You’re mine. I’m not going to give you to somebody,” Brooke shared.

“Under the guise of protection, but it was more ownership and fear, I think.”

The “Endless Love” star also said she didn’t mind her mother’s behavior at the time because her own success was resulting them in getting “stuff” she’d never had before in her life.

“I did a movie and we got a car. All I knew was keep my mother alive, keep dancing and get stuff,” she recalled.

“But to emerge from it not angry or jaded… it’s something in your character. It’s in my character.”
