Patrick Mahomes’ wife was a bit anxious while filming Netflix’s “Quarterback,” which premiered in July.

During an Instagram Q&A, Brittany Matthews said she was a “little nervous” when cameras followed her and the Chiefs quarterback on and off the field throughout the entire 2022 NFL season.

When asked if she believes the show portrayed the “real” her, Matthews wrote: “I do and I’m very thankful it did.”

In addition to Mahomes, the docu-series followed Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins and former Falcons signal-caller Marcus Mariota (now with the Eagles).

The eight-part first season captured some of the couple’s home life, as well as Mahomes’s birthday party (he turned 27 on Sept. 17), where a then-pregnant Matthews forced him to take photos.

The KC Current women’s soccer team co-owner gave birth to the couple’s second child, a son named Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, on Nov. 28.

“Quarterback” also covered Mahomes’ Super Bowl run, when he led the Chiefs to a 38-35 win over the Eagles in February — which marked Kansas City’s second championship in four years.

Elsewhere in “Quarterback,” the high school sweethearts reminisced on the early stages of their relationship, where Mahomes explained how he courted Brittany.

“We kinda met in seventh, eighth grade,” Mahomes said. “She was the grade above me, I was kind of the best friend, in the friend zone forever.

“I used to walk her to class and was trying to flirt. When I was a sophomore in high school, she was a junior. I actually got her a rose … I kinda … I had a crush on her. But, I was getting a rose as a joke for Valentine’s Day.”

However, Matthews said she thought the rose was “the cutest thing in the world.”

“And then everyone at our lunch table started chanting, ‘Kiss him, kiss him’ — and made it really awkward cause we were ‘just friends’ so that’s kind of what started it and then I thought it was cute,” she recalled.

Matthews took the “awkward and funny” chants in stride, and the rest is history.

“So then we just started talking and then started dating,” she said in the docu-series.

Mahomes and Matthews tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Hawaii in March 2022, where their daughter, Sterling Skye, 2, served as the flower girl.

In a separate post on Instagram, Matthews shared a photo of the couple kissing on the sidelines during Saturday’s preseason matchup between the Chiefs and Cardinals.

“Year Seven,” Matthews wrote in her caption, adding red and yellow heart emojis as a nod to the Chiefs’ colors.

Mahomes has spent his entire NFL career with the Chiefs after they selected him with the 10th pick out of Texas Tech in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Netflix’s “Quarterback” was renewed for a second season, executive producer and Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning announced during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” last month.
