Britney Spears confirms long-standing rumors that Justin Timberlake broke up with her via text message in her highly anticipated memoir.
The Princess of Pop writes in “The Woman in Me,” which hits stores on Oct. 24, that she was “devastated” and considered quitting the music industry after the *NSYNC member ended their three-year relationship in 2002.
“I was comatose in Louisiana, and he was happily running around Hollywood,” she shares (per the New York Times).
Spears also calls out the media for portraying her as a “harlot who’d broken the heart of America’s golden boy” after Timberlake infamously implied in his “Cry Me a River” music video that she had cheated on him.
The “Toxic” singer does, however, confess to being unfaithful, writing in the book that she “made out with” dancer Wade Robson at a bar one night.
Spears, 41, claims Timberlake, 42, stepped out on her, too, though she does not name his celebrity paramour.
Story developing.
