Jamie Spears’ had his leg amputated a month ago as his health continues to decline, according to a report.
Sources told TMZ that Britney’s estranged father had a massive infection in one of his legs that saw him hospitalized in October for weeks.
The outlet adds that Jamie underwent a total of five surgeries to combat the infection, but was ultimately forced to have his leg amputated.
Jamie reportedly suffered from an infection stemming from a knee replacement surgery he had 16 years ago.
The 71-year-old has lost over 25 pounds through his health woes.
His ailing health has also forced him to reevaluate his relationships, the outlet notes, and he reportedly wants to make amends with his Grammy-winning daughter.
What’s more, TMZ says that the “Gimme More” hitmaker — who once said she wanted Jamie in jail for his role in her “abusive” 13-year conservatorship — “misses her dad,” and has even “talked about sending him money to help him out.”
Page Six has reached out to Britney’s reps for comment.
