Yerin Ha‘s latest update has got Bridgerton fans seated.
The Season 4 star, who plays Sophie Baek, teased to Women’s Wear Daily that production is “going so well,” and shared a progress update.
“We just finished block three and we’re heading into block four now, so the final stint of the long marathon,” she said. “But it’s just been so wonderful and work has never felt like work. It’s just felt like playtime. It’s been so nice.”
Netflix had announced Luke Thompson as Season 4’s leading man in July 2024, teasing that Thompson will meet a “Lady in Silver” at the beginning of the next installment. Reports that Ha was tapped to be Season 4’s love interest alongside Thompson came out in August 2024, marking the period romance’s first East Asian lead. The following month, the streamer made the news official, while also changing Ha’s character’s surname from Beckett to Baek to honor her Korean heritage.
Per Netflix’s Tudum, Sophie Baek is “a maid whose mask — both literal and figurative — hides a mysterious history.”
Netflix also treated fans to a first look at Season 4 this past Valentine’s Day, tiding them over as they wait for more updates on a release timeline. Season 4 showrunner Jess Brownell told The Hollywood Reporter in July that they are “kind of on a two-year pace” in terms of its release, highlighting how long it takes to write, edit and dub the season into different languages.

Brownell explained to DECIDER that although they “are always hoping to get to fans sooner,” she was uncertain that Season 4 would only take a year to produce, noting that “every episode is like producing a feature film.”
“It is so involved with so many characters,” she added. “There are so many plotlines that we are trying to break and weave that it just takes longer to write and to produce than any other show I’ve heard of. So we will work as quickly as humanly possible to deliver and that’s the most, unfortunately, that I can do. I wish I could make it come sooner.”
Bridgerton Seasons 1-3 and Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story are streaming on Netflix.
