There will be changes to Brian Daboll’s coaching staff but Daboll does not expect that those changes will include defensive coordinator Wink Martindale and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka.
That is the word from the Giants head coach, who said Monday he intends to return for the 2024 season with Martindale and Kafka in their same roles.
Daboll did say he has not spoken to either coordinator yet.
Daboll did make changes, though, firing special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey and offensive line coach Bobby Johnson. These moves are not surprises.
There was friction this season between Daboll and Martindale, leading to speculation that Daboll would male a move with his top defensive assistant.
Martindale is extremely popular with the players and they wanted him to return.
