Police officers in the United Kingdom thought that something was wrong with their cars when they kept hearing a strange noise that sounded convincingly similar to their sirens, video shows.

Cops from the Thames Valley Police force at the Roads Policing base in Bicester were “left a little bit confused this week” by the sounds — until they discovered it was a local bird that was mimicking their sirens.

Video posted to the department’s Facebook page Wednesday shows the bird up in a tree above the parking lot where several police vehicles are parked tweeting out sounds nearly identical to the sirens.

“It’s so accurate, they’ve been left thinking the sirens were faulty on the cars,” the department wrote in the post.

“From our workshops that test the two tone tune to officers deploying to jobs, this little fella has been sat patiently observing the noise to then recreate,” they added.

Many speculated on social media that the black bird could be a crow, which are known for their mimicking abilities, while others thought it could be a starling, which can also mimic noises impressively.
